What are Chakras?
Chakra (meaning "wheel" in Sanskrit) refers to the energy centers located along the midline of the body. These spinning wheels of life force energy **(Prana or Ki)** are responsible for distributing vitality to your physical body, mind, and spirit.
We focus on the **Seven Major Chakras**, each correlating to a specific nerve center, area of consciousness, organ function, and a unique emotional or spiritual attribute.

1. Root Chakra (Muladhara) Grounding & Survival
Location: Base of the spine (perineum).
Associated Color: Red.
Function: Governs stability, security, survival instincts, and our connection to the Earth. It provides the foundation for our life.
When Balanced: Feeling safe, grounded, secure, and financially stable.
When Blocked: Anxiety, fear, insecurity, physical issues in the lower back or legs.
2. Sacral Chakra (Svadhisthana) Creativity & Emotion
Location: Lower abdomen, below the navel.
Associated Color: Orange.
Function: Governs creativity, emotional flow, joy, passion, and healthy sexuality. It is the center of pleasure.
When Balanced: Expressing emotions freely, having healthy boundaries, feeling creative and passionate.
When Blocked: Emotional instability, guilt, fear of intimacy, creative blocks, urinary issues.
3. Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) Willpower & Confidence
Location: Upper abdomen, in the stomach area.
Associated Color: Yellow.
Function: Governs personal power, self-esteem, self-discipline, and willpower. It is the center of your identity.
When Balanced: Strong sense of self, confident, responsible, clear direction in life.
When Blocked: Low self-esteem, feeling powerless, issues with digestion or metabolism.
4. Heart Chakra (Anahata) Love & Compassion
Location: Center of the chest, slightly above the heart.
Associated Color: Green (physical), Pink (emotional).
Function: The bridge between the lower and upper chakras. Governs love, compassion, connection, acceptance, and healing.
When Balanced: Feeling deep love and empathy for self and others, giving and receiving freely, emotionally open.
When Blocked: Grief, loneliness, fear of commitment, circulatory or heart problems.
5. Throat Chakra (Vishuddha) Communication & Truth
Location: Throat area.
Associated Color: Light Blue/Turquoise.
Function: Governs self-expression, communication, and speaking one's truth with clarity and integrity.
When Balanced: Communicating effectively, speaking honestly, confidence in self-expression.
When Blocked: Shyness, fear of public speaking, throat ailments, difficulty expressing thoughts.
6. Third Eye Chakra (Ajna) Intuition & Wisdom
Location: Center of the forehead, between the eyebrows.
Associated Color: Indigo.
Function: Governs intuition, insight, inner wisdom, vision, and imagination. It is the center of consciousness.
When Balanced: Clear intuition, imaginative, seeing the bigger picture, good memory.
When Blocked: Lack of imagination, denial, headaches, confusion, inability to see patterns.
7. Crown Chakra (Sahasrara) Spirit & Enlightenment
Location: Very top of the head.
Associated Color: Violet or White/Gold.
Function: Governs spiritual connection, enlightenment, unity, and consciousness of the Divine. Our highest self.
When Balanced: Spiritual fulfillment, awareness of interconnectedness, peacefulness, wisdom.
When Blocked: Feeling disconnected, spiritual cynicism, depression, feelings of isolation.
